Sterling G., aka Sterling Davis, has come a long way since his humble beginnings on the tough streets of Detroit. This hit-making songwriter, producer, composer and artist draws from Detroit’s rich musical heritage to remain focused, original, and stylish. In 2010 Sterling gave birth to his latest project entitled “Soul Memoirs”. Soul Memoirs is a collection of 17 very well crafted and emotional story telling songs than breathe life back into R&B. His journey has allowed him to work with some of the most talented artists in the industry, allowing him to travel throughout the U.S. and several other countries abroad now Sterling moves to the fore front to showcase Soul Memoirs. Sterling the hitmaking writer / producer is well known for his hypnotic melodies, speaker-knocking grooves, and lush production. Most feel that his perfect blend of the old and the new school is his key to having staying power in the entertainment industry. Sterling’s credits as a producer/writer include working with artists such as Robin Thicke; Austin Brown (Interscope); Victoria Beckham, Posh Spice of the Spice Girls (19 Entertainment); Sam Salter (LaFace); Montell Jordan (Native/Universal); UNE (Native/Universal); Nikki Gilbert formerly of Brownstone (MJJ); (Brownstone) (MJJ); Surface (Arista); Ollie Woodson; Darius McCrary of TV’s “Family Matters”; to name a few. In 2002, Sterling landed a position as the Urban Music composer for CBS and UPN (now known as The CW). Since then he has created and composed songs and music for several nationally televised shows, including “CSI: Miami,” “The Agency,” “Everybody Hates Chris,” “The Wire,” “One on One,” “Half and Half,” “The Game,” “The Steve Harvey Show” (WB), “Nick Freno Licensed Teacher,” “Americas Next Top Model,” “The District,” “The Parkers,” “Family Matters,” “The Tyra Banks Show,” “The Bernie Mac Show,” and others. Additional credits include creating music for numerous commercials and trailers. Sterling’s Film composing credits include: Phat Beach 1 song, Robbin’ In Da Hood Maverick Ent) Scored and Composed, BeFoa & Aftah (scored and composed) and AWake (Solid Rock Pictures) 4 songs, Sterling the musician has toured or performed with many world-renown artists, including Surface, Chico DeBarge, K.C. Hailey, (formerly of K.C. & JoJo and Jodeci), Sam Salter, Ollie Woodson, Howard Hewitt, Mary Jane Girls, UNE, Lathun and Robin Thicke, to name a few.
